首先，商标是具有地域限制属性的，比如说，你在中国注册的商标，只在中国大陆范围内受到商标法的保护，在国外是不受到保护的。
那么美国商标注册和欧盟商标注册第一不同点就是保护区域限制为各自的国家（地区）。
其次，注册原则上的不同：美国商标注册遵循“使用在先”原则，而欧盟商标注册与大多数的国家一样，它遵循的“注册在先”原则。因此，如果你商标已经在美国还未注册商标，但是已经投入使用了，那么其他人抢注你商标的时候，美国专利商标局，是会把商标使用在先原则考虑进去的，商标使用人会获得更大的优势。
还有，注册流程时间的不同，美国商标注册时间需要12个月左右，欧盟商标注册时间仅需4-6个月，因为欧盟商标不进行实质审查，即官方不会以申请商标与在先商标构成近似而主动驳回，因此商标很容易通过初审并予以公告。
最后，关于商标的使用和撤销
美国每隔5年左右是需要提交使用证据，证明你的商标是处于使用状态，
美国商标提交使用证据的时间要求：注册之日起第5-6年、第9-10年共需提交三次使用证据。
商标撤销时限的不同：
美国：注册商标连续3年未在所指定的商品或服务项目上使用，则其他第三方可以申请撤销该注册商标。
欧盟：注册商标连续5年未在所指定的商品或服务项目上使用，则其他第三方可以申请撤销该注册商标。
